Highlights of the inaugural Festival lineup include Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Santana, Al Green, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, The Isley Brothers, Charlie Wilson, Eric Burdon & The Animals, The O’Jays, The Jacksons, War, The Spinners, Smokey Robinson, The Whispers, The Emotions, Dionne Warwick, George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic, Zapp, Kool & The Gang, and Morris Day & The Time. Also in the lineup are Durand Jones & The Indications, Brenton Wood, Barbara Mason, Thee Sacred Souls, Mayer Hawthorne, The Delfonics, The Stylistics, The Manhattans, Los Lobos, Lady Wray, Heatwave, Shalamar, Con Funk Shun, The Pointer Sisters, and many more.
